Wetlands & Flood Plains

If your property is in a wetland or flood plain you may require additional approvals for any building on your lot.

Search for your property through this County Map to see if it is in a wetland.  If so, contact the Army Corps of Engineers to determine if you can build on your property.  Search for your property through the Indiana Department of Natural Resources to find out if it is in a flood plain. If so, review the Floodplain Ordinance, based on the zoning of your property to determine what regulations might apply to you.
