ST-SERVICE: Street Plowing

During a snow event, the main focus of attention is on all main streets throughout the City due to the traffic volume and their use by public transportation and school buses.  Once the main routes are cleared and are made as safe as possible, attention is then shifted to residential streets.  Our objective is to clear all City streets within 36 hours after the end of a moderate snow event.

What is the general plan for snow plowing on City streets?

The Street Department strives to have all streets clear and safely driveable within 36 hours after the snow has stopped falling, beginning with the main traffic routes.  However, the 36-hour countdown starts over with each new snowfall because with each new snowfall, we have to start over on the main routes.

When can I request to have my street plowed?
