What is euthanasia?
Animal euthanasia is the act of putting an animal to death or allowing it to die by withholding extreme medical measures. Reasons for euthanasia include incurable (and especially painful) conditions or diseases, lack of resources to continue supporting the animal, or laboratory test procedures. Euthanasia methods are designed to cause minimal pain and distress.

Who can have their pet euthanized?
SBACC offers humane euthanasia services to any citizen who lives within the City limits of South Bend. SBACC will euthanize an animal for a 20.00 fee. The owner must make an appointment with SBACC ahead of time. SBACC will only make euthanasia appointments on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Appointments must be made at least one day in advance.
