SW-REQUEST: Additional Trash Container Request

Any resident wanting an additional container or per the City Ordinance, should the solid waste refuse of a dwelling habitually exceed the limits of the furnished solid waste container, the City may require the dwelling occupant to use a second City-issued container. 

What is the cost for an additional trash container request?

The cost of an additional trash container is $7.09 per container per month. The fee is added to the resident's monthly utilities bill. 

Who is eligible for an additional trash container request?

Any resident paying for City trash services. Should the solid waste refuse of a dwelling habitually exceed the limits of the furnished solid waste container, the City may require the dwelling occupant to use a second City-issued container. Only the account holder can make the request. 

When is an additional trash container provided?

The additional container is provided on the next trash pick-up day. 

How can I request an additional trash container?

By filling out the webform here or by calling the City's 311 call center.

HOW TO ADD A TRASH TOTE

In the red phone, select the customer’s address. Once the customer is pulled up, select the “Collection Orders”. Select the “Containers” category.

Click the green plus sign that says “New” to create a new container.

When the “Container Item Editor” comes up, there are several essential pieces of information needed. First, under the “Material Profile”, select “Mixed Municipal”.

Next, under the “Container Type”, select either “96 Gallon Refuse” or “48 Gallon Refuse”, depending on the container size requested.

  At the bottom of the box, under “Create Jobs”, you will need to select “Container Delivery”, and choose the next scheduled pick-up date.

In the notes, please specify that this is for an additional trash tote.

 To finish the call, click the green check mark “OK”.
