WW-INQUIRY: Payments for Utilities Bill

Residents can pay their Utility bills in a variety of ways.

How can I make a payment?

South Bend Municipal Utilities offers a variety of ways customers can pay their bills:

  1. Pay over the phone:
    • Call 574.235.9236 and follow the instructions on the integrated voice response (IVR) system.
    • You will need your account number or the phone number associated with your account.
    • There is no additional charge for using this service.
  2. Pay online:
    • Access the Utility's Online Payment Portal. Download the registration guide for assistance.
    • You may now make one-time payments even if you do not have an online account.  
      • You will need your account number to make a one-time payment.
    • You may also download copies of prior bills if you set up an online account.
    • There is no additional charge for using this service.
    • South Bend Municipal Utilities has one Online Payment Portal and is not affiliated with any online third-party paying agents; South Bend Municipal Utilities is not responsible for any delays in payments that are made through such outside services.
  3. Mail payments:
    • Mail payment to South Bend Water Works: PO Box 7125, South Bend, IN 46634-7125. Please include bill stub to expedite your payment.
  4. Pay at the Customer Service Office:
    • 125 W Colfax Ave; South Bend, IN 46601
    • The office is open Monday - Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 
    • The drive-through payment window is open Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
    • After-hours payments may be placed in the night drop box facing Colfax Ave.
      • Payment will be applied to your account the next business day.
